I'm about 2/3 of the way through and I love it. It answers so many questions I had about the history of rock (generally speaking, without going into the various genres) and of the guitars that made history. If you love music the way I do this book is great and for you.

As interesting and entertaining (and factual) a history of electrics as I've found in 30 years in the industry. Tolinski knows his stuff, and knows how to write a story that never bogs down with minutiae, but keeps the reader engaged. Highly recommended.

As a long-time reader of Alan di Perna articles and books, I was truly thrilled to get into this one. Authors Alan di Perna and Brad Tolinski did such a wonderful job telling the story of the electric guitar. I really loved the story about the Beatles escaping through a tunnel under Central Park! It was like something out of “A Hard Days Night.” I learned so much more than I thought I would and enjoyed every step of the amazing journey.

This was a great book that not only detailed the history of the development of the modern electric guitar but also the many stories that went along with getting to today. It was really well researched. I am a relatively new guitar player so I was unaware of a lot of this so very educational but even if you have been playing for years you will find the stories behind the stories to be fascinating.

I got this at the end of summer, and I ran out of summer before I could finish, but I really enjoyed what I read. I love learning about the history of guitar, and this book does a superb job covering the advent of the electric guitar. I learned so much from the portions I read, but I also really enjoyed the reading: it is easy and immersive. I would recommend this book to anyone regardless of if they are a guitarist or just a music lover.

Giovanni Maciocia is an acupuncturist and medical herbalist in Amersham, England, where he has practiced since 1973. He studied acupuncture at the International College of Oriental Medicine in Sussex (Bachelor of Acupuncture, 1974) and the Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Diplomate, 1980, 1982, 1987). Since 1979 he has been a contributing editor to The Journal of Chinese Medicine, and a frequent lecturer on Chinese medicine in Europe and the United States. His other books include The Foundations of Chinese Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology in Chinese Medicine.

Happy to have this text, It is one of three and I like all of them and find them useful as I learn the method. One always need more than one reference book to obtain the best information.

Great and informative

I found this book a very nice description of the principles and practices of the tongue diagnosis in Chinese Medicine. It also provides a good example on how to describe in decent English the concepts and terms in Chinese Medicine. I'm not a medical scientist but part of my research is related with Chinese Medicine. I found this book a good reference, especially when I need write about Chinese Medicine in English in the future.

This is a great book for TCM students. It has helped clarify for me how to recognize patterns by tongue reading. Maciocia is very easy to understand. He writes in plain English in a way that makes it very easy to grasp concepts. Highly recommend this book if you are learning Tongue Reading and how they relate to TCM patterns.

It was a gift to my brother who studies naturopathic medicine. He and a friend who just graduated, loved the book.

I know there is a book out there that has a lot more pictures. I debated about getting that one instead of this because comparatively speaking, this has much fewer, but this is definitely the superior choice. The text is very informative which makes the pictures that it does have more meaningful. I am not a TCM practitioner, so keep that in perspective. I am really glad I bought this book over some others. It explains a lot without overwhelming or confusing me.

THE BOOK IS VERY WELL WRITTEN AND INCREDIBLY DETAILED... IT INCLUDES MANY PICTURES TO HELP UNDERSTAND THE MANY DIFFERENT DISEASE RELATED SYMPTOMS OF THE BODY... ONE OF MY FAVORITES IN MY LIBRARY OF PATHELOGICAL STUDIES!

This is a fun fashion book based on styles from the Victorian period. The elegant clothes of the period were stylized and had many swirls and layers of fabric. The hats were quite elaborate and contained bows and flowers and other embellishments. The designs in the book give you the opportunity to play with color and dress the ladies of the period as you would prefer.The designs in the book are detailed with lots of background patterns. The details are not intricate and small but they will keep you busy while you color.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 x 2 each fashion designs based on the Victorian Period for a total of 50 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

There's a lot of good things about this book. First, there's two sets of the drawings. Second, the drawings are only on side of the page and the back of each page is black, both things helping to prevent bleed-through. Another good thing is the artwork which looks really nice. Further the drawings are not overly complicated, making coloring them fairly easy. By the way, another good point is that, once you buy the book you can download a .pdf file of the same artwork, giving you backups in case you want to color the same piece of art in a bunch of different ways.

This coloring book scratches all my various itches: love for pretty dresses, the Victorian era, and crippling stress and anxiety. The paper isn't super thick, but my markers don't bleed through. The backside of each sheet is solid black so that helps. There are lots of different pictures and lots of different patterns. It's awesome. Buy it now.

I bought this coloring book a couple of months ago and almost all of the pages have been colored. Each page includes men and/or women in intricately designed fashions that are just wonderful to color. The drawings are beautiful and each page contains intricate fabric designs for the clothes, and a wonderful 'wallpaper' for the background. You can really be creative and have some fun with these. I also have the Edgar Allan Poe coloring book from Jade Summer, and I love that one, too. If you like adult coloring of scenes, and not just shapes and/or flowers, you'll love these!

Enjoyed this but for repeated pages and disproportioned subjects. Also, somewhat repetitive - a succession of standing figures.

Very disappointed Only a handful of pictures all the other pages were duplicates of them poor editing would hv been nice to have more of different poses what was there was pretty nice. Had to laugh- don’t think Victorian ladies had short hair or drank tea out of what looked like ceramic mugs. Take a look

I'm glad I got this book. Lots of info for the price and a different slant than a lot of "exercise" books. The first two chapters explain why Brady discarded traditional training methods, e.g. lots of weightlifting, for his new methods. The "why" helps. Then he explains pliability, there are 120 pages of exercises, then stuff on hydration, diet and getting proper rest. Some of it is basic, e.g. avoid salt, but some of it is rather unique in my experience, e.g. avocado ice cream. And some I found surprising, like seeing salmon on the list of acidifying foods.Whether or not you buy into Brady's ideas, if you are interested in personal health, from an exercise or nutrition standpoint or both, I think this book is worth a read. I figure for the $24, or whatever it was, there are more than enough interesting ideas to make me glad I bought it.

This book is a summary of Brady's healthy life style and exercise routine. As a nurse practitioner trained as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, I found his beliefs to be pretty well grounded in science and commonly accepted practices and enjoyed the content. It is comprehensive and well-thought out. It's his way of telling his story and then thoroughly covering all aspects of life that lead to achieving a lifetime of sustained peak performance that makes it unique. If we all did what he suggests, we'd all be fit, healthy, and happier. If coaches followed these guidelines, we'd have less injuries nation wide. It should be required reading of all high school athletes and especially the coaches who still don't get it. It's totally worth the money because the concepts apply to all people, not just those who exercise or are athletes. His main point of adding pliability (lengthening and softening muscles) to your strength and conditioning routine is not a new concept but it is rather new to see a professional athlete embrace it so thoroughly. It really is one of the main secrets to his athletic longevity and all of us should add pliability exercises to our routines as well as follow his 12 principles. To discredit an earlier review - Brady does NOT say you have to go to one of his centers to achieve pliability. He discusses self pliability exercises, partner pliability exercises, and then professional therapists at his centers (which would probably be for the amateur and professional athletes or those who are really into this). There is a bit of a sales pitch tone to it though with some annoying repetitious phrases - but maybe the athletes need it drilled into them. It seems it was written so that you'd get the same couple messages with each page. He could have said the same stuff in less pages. I highly recommend starting this book with the conclusion on page 284 for a summary of what's to come. Move on to the middle and if you haven't had enough, then hit the verbose beginning chapters. There are a ton of good pictures to help with understanding the exercises and if you are a Brady fan you'll like his personal touch. I'm glad I got it and highly recommend it. If I had a kid in sports, I'd buy it for them no matter how young and read it with them. I'm ordering my husband his own book and I'm recommending it to all my friends. It's really that good.

I am not a Patriot fan, nor a worshipper of Tom Brady. I am a middleaged female yoga teacher. But I like Tom Brady's TB12 program very much and I think this book is worth reading. Especially for aging athletes--whether in sports or yoga, Tom and his trainer Alex Guererro have developed some key strategies for improving fitness, notably muscle pliability, which I've taken to the yoga studio with good success. I add this technique of self-massage to my stretching in yoga class. I also respect his nutritional plan, his supplement list (although mine is more sophisticated than his, and each person should personalize his or her supplements, especially using blood tests to target deficiencies like the common deficiency Vitamin D) and his concern about hydration, sleep and mental focus. To scoff without testing his program in your own life is just prejudice, not science. To dismiss the whole because Tom Brady sells merchandise based on his program is also illogical. You can do his program, as I do, without buying a thing. You don't buy muscle pliability. You use intelligence & hard work to heal your injuries and improve mobility. Just do it. Namaste, Tom.

Life changing -- and I am 76 years old

Interesting book. A bit repetitious at times but the knowledge is valuable. I bought a Physix gear sports stick $11 on Amazon to massage my muscles and it works well to put Tom's plan into action. Also began using bands to work our with at the gym. Was very suprised to see how fast my muscles reponded and became more "pliable".

Have a kid who plays sports who you want to eat a healthier diet?? Buy this book! My 8 year old son is loving this book and it has opened up lots of discussions about health, healthy eating, and hard work. Be annoyed by Tom Brady’s “perfection” all you want, but in a world that’s becoming more and more difficult to find good influences for your children this book lays a decent foundation.

I'm not a personal fan of Tom Brady, but you've got to admit, the guy's a true winner. I thought my husband would be interested in reading about how Tom keeps fit and his exercise regime, etc. to keep him strong and healthy as he ages. My husband (not a Brady fan either) actually liked the book and we have shared it with others. Brady offers some good tips/advise that is good in keeping your body moving and in shape to be the best you can at any age. You've got to respect the guy and he's definitely doing a lot right.

This book is a game changer! It is important for competitive athletes to look at all aspects of training, competition, and recovery and this is what TB does in his book. I used many of the ideas here to improve my approach to competing in running races from 5Ks to marathons and found the information helpful. Most people have already made conclusions love/hate about TB and his methods but if you approach what he has to say with an open mind there is a lot to be gained. Today some of his methods spark controversy- in the future I believe they will be mainstream. The material in this book is out in the media in various locations but the book brings it together. I suggest you give it a try!
