This is by far the best book I've read on the subject. I have found countless helpful ideas from it and have made several successful changes to my ads, cold calls, etc.Highly recommend for both novice and old school recruiters.

I am a Sr. Recruiter of over 15 years and am always buying new books to keep up with the times and drive my professional development. This book is an amazing resource for new recruiters. It covers a myriad of topics to include; intake meetings, working with hiring managers, cold calling, and many others. The information provided is at a very high level and is great for someone that wants to learn the basics. However, the book never truly takes a deep dive into any of it's topics so it's not a good resource for anyone that already has some recruiting time under their belt (hence the "101"). If I was judging how much I learned from this book I would rate it 0 stars. However, I know this book is intended for absolute beginners and for them it should be a must read. In the future if I hire a new recruiter with no experience to join my team their first assignment will be to read this book!

This is a great book for anyone who is in Recruiting or is new to the industry. I look reading this book as it is a wealth of Knowledge and I would even recommend that a training in organization in recruiting should be done solely on this book. A great read and I don't regret the purchase.

This is a foundational text and greatly needed in a range of academic, artistic, and professional fields, especially for those conducting research and engaged with communities they are either new to an/or intimately connected with. Highly recommended.

Let us face it: books on academic subjects can be a tedious read, but Madison writes with a passion for critical ethnography that makes the reader understand the relevance of this very important methodology.Her case studies provide a context for why critical ethnography is an important research methodology for many of the social science disciplines. She also provides great sidebars on important historical events that helped shape critical ethnography.

It has some complicated information, not easy to read for non-native speakers.

Wow, this may be one of the most unreadable books I have ever read. The shift to Critical Ethnography in some journalism departments is a bad direction in my mind. What ever happened to the: Who What When Where and How?

All of Madison’s texts are rich treasure troves of scholarly brilliance, practical wisdom, and something even rarer, a spirit of generosity and meticulousness that comes from caring deeply about her work and others.Miraculously this book dishes out critical theory and serves it up in bite-sized pieces any undergraduate or graduate student can digest. I have used this book in my undergraduate classes as the foundational text for Performance Ethnography. Students time and again tell me how accessible and meaningful Madison’s text makes theory for them through clear definitions and concrete case studies and examples that demonstrate how to think about theory and performance together when engaged in fieldwork.This book also focuses on one’s own positionality and the importance of addressing and confronting one’s own identity when engaging with others in a “co-performance” while doing fieldwork. If covers a range of other topics of vital concern and interest to the novice as well as the seasoned critical ethnographer, such as methodology, interviews, ethics, freeing writer’s block, performative writing, and much, much more. About the Author

A.G. Riddle spent ten years starting internet companies before retiring to pursue his true passion: writing fiction.His debut novel, The Atlantis Gene, is the first book in The Origin Mystery, the trilogy that has sold over two million copies in the US, has been translated into 23 languages, and is in development to be a major motion picture.His recently released fourth novel, Departure, follows the survivors of a flight that takes off in the present and crash-lands in a changed world. HarperCollins published Departure in hardcover in the fall of 2015, and 20th Century Fox is developing the novel for a feature film. Riddle grew up in a small town in North Carolina (Boiling Springs) and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. During his sophomore year of college, he started his first company with a childhood friend. I had high hopes for this book since it was advertised as a techno thriller about human origins and evolution. I anticipated a smart thriller and found a lot of interesting information and theories. Initially it was an action oriented page turner but I was surprised at all the violence and death throughout the story and as it went on, it began to lose me. The plot is too complicated and there are too many characters to keep track of who are eventually revealed to have other identities. The characters also don’t seem to have much depth. Going back and forth in time was also confusing. I have no desire to read the sequels and feel disappointed in the lost potential. This turned out to quite different than I expected.

The story is awesome, I love the story and what I'll say first might not sound too flattering, but this really is a good book. The way the book is written though -IN MY OPINION- is... Callow. Especially with the military references, some of the statements "David" says, no Special Forces/Soldier would make comments like that ( I'm sorry I can't give an example as I am half way through the second book and don't feel like rifling back through it all again quite yet. There is a LOT of jumping back and forth to locations that are named similarly ( which is very confusing,) and character descriptions are pretty vague until very late in the book so it makes it -at least for me- very challenging to keep track of all the characters through all the jumping back and forth and "Character twists" -no spoilers. As I understand though, this is A.G. Riddles' first book and if that's the case then my little critiques will soon fate into the dust cloud of success. This series has already got me hooked, so for those of you who think I'm just nit picking this book apart because I'm a "hater," your dead wrong. It's just my honest opinion. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books of this topic It'll keep you flippin' pages. The material that A.G. Riddle has here is pretty impressive and really stimulate thought.

I didn't expect it to be so good!! This was a mix of GI Indiana Jones meets Star Trek/ Stargate with non stop fast paced thrilling action!! You don't need to be an expert on the science behind genomes. Great storyline about autism research and DNA manipulation. Easy to understand, references well linked. The audible had more narrative; and as amazing! With so many characters, I always knew who they were. The female characters were not overly done, and made more realistic. The pauses, sighs, fast paced narration when in action. It was perfect! I love narrators that bring books to life. A movie in my head. I kept putting on sleep timer and kept having to restart. Yes, it was hard to let go. Oh, yeah! Romance? Definitely! Action? It will have you on the edge of your seat!! The science fiction is beyond words! Really annoying to have interruptions. Hard to avoid with life and kids.

An interesting film script with lots of action. Obviously the author had his eye on a movie contract and I congratulate him for his success securing one. If you were expecting a novel, with all the literary resources and depth the genre entails, this is not it.

If you like action, this book has plenty of it. However, it is wrapped in a plot that defies the principle of unity, and is so confusing that it prompts the reader to give up before the ending. It is more science fiction and fantasy than anything else, with a heavy dose of genetics thrown in. The story jumps from one location to another continuously, and the problems faced by the heroes become more improbable. Nevertheless, the good guys appear in the next chapter with only minor injuries, and the reader has no inkling as to how they got there. With an eye toward a trilogy about this story line, the ending leaves quite a few threads still hanging.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I felt as though there were too many backstories, and too many plot twists. By the time I had read half of the novel, there were so many unfinished ideas that I was exhausted. I kept waiting for a thought to be completed, or some sort of idea to be connected with something else, but kept growing increasingly frustrated with how bigger and bigger ideas were being introduced without really fitting in with one another. I rarely give up entirely on books, but finally pushed this one aside: I felt as though my time was being wasted, and while I certainly don't mind anticipation and suspense, I didn't feel as though the pay-off was going to be worth it.

Confusing for me. Lots of characters and story goes from one perspective to another. When I finally figured out (somewhat) each character's name and their storyline, the names changed. I couldn't follow smoothly from that point since I couldn't remember who was who. Maybe a younger brain will do better. The struggle isn't worth me purchasing the next two books.

Again I don't like the 5 star system. I would actually give this 3.5 stars. It was a good read. The pace was good, the concept was unusual and featured some really cool plot devices. I was never bored, but I was a little confused by the number of names some of the characters had.So why 3 stars and not 4? Three main reasons. First, this was the first in another trilogy that doesn't fully stand alone. I really hate that. Second, the book was really more like a James Bond book than a sci-fi book and finally it was chock full of cliches.************************ Warning! Mild spoilers ahead ***********************The main male character was yet another brave, strong, handsome soldier so good he could take on multiple enemies and the main female character was a beautiful scientist. Really? There were nazis and an organization bent on world domination. The author actually included a bomb with a countdown timer. That's nearly unforgivable!***************************** End mild spoilers ******************************So if you really want a sci-fi James Bond book, this is the one for you, but it's better than a James Bond book. If you want a true sci-fi book with 3 dimensional characters, pass it up.

Receive this rental and due to the writing of the last person using it, you can barely see the text in the book. The person's writing is so distracting when you're trying to read what little of the text you can see.

I thought te text was easy to follow. The typos are typical in the early editions of textbooks. It is succinct and straight forward. The author took care to make it easy on the eyes and not super heavy or needlessly thick.

This text is not well written. At times it gives an adequate discussion of the material and at other times, it is very lacking. sometimes the end of chapter questions and discussion within the chapter do not line up. If you can avoid it, I do NOT recommend this text.

If you are truly serious about learning hematology for practical application, get a real textbook and leave this starter one for others.

The book was marked new. It arrived with SEVERAL bent pages.
