This is the 2nd copy of this book that I've purchased. The initial copy was supposed to be a gift for a friend. But I liked it so much I decided to keep it! Someone had a great deal on Marketplace, so I bought a 2nd copy = problem solved. As an Austin, TX resident I was very happy to see a lot of at the time of this writing local restaurant chefs featured (including one of my friend's favorites). I hadn't used fish sauce very much apart from specific recipes that called for it. I'm really excited to expand my horizons, though with an open window as whew that stuff is pungent!

I bought The Fish Sauce Cookbook for my husband for Christmas and we love it. It includes some fresh takes on classic dishes (like Kimchi Stew with Tuna and Ramen Noodles or Marinated Grilled Short Ribs) as well as some really innovative and unexpected recipes (we love the Sweet and Spicy Caramel Corn with Cashews and Fish Sauce Caramel as well as the interesting desserts and cocktails). This cookbook is highly recommended for those who are trying to figure out how to use up a bottle of fish sauce that they've had for ages, as well as those who are interested in stretching their culinary horizons in new directions. A really interesting and useful addition to the cookbook collection!

I have always been mystified by how to use fish sauce (is it sweet? is it savory? how much to use?), and this volume helped me get a handle on it.As importantly, I love this book because it's written by a terrific human. Veronica is one of the most vibrant people I know, and almost superhuman in terms of what she's been able to accomplish: Full-time journalist? Check. Volunteer for at-risk youth? Check. Board member for Slow Food Austin? Check. Sassy redhead? Check.You get the idea. Please support this writer, buy her book x 1000, send her phychic hi-fives, etc.

I never thought of using fish sauce in such a variety of ways but as the book demonstrates, it's such a versatile ingredient. I was amazed by the depth of ideas provided in the book, everything from chicken wings and pulled pork to caramel corn. Love it!

Great recipes by famous chefs from all over make this cookbook great for any of your foodie friends. Fish sauce is such an important part of so many cultures and this cookbook does a great job of exploring how to use it.

UPDATE: After broken item received amazon sent another book for free. It really deserves 5 stars because is a great product, good quality (I cannot understand how the first one could arrive damaged). The kids loved it. I recommend it.

My seven year old daughter received this as a gift and she adores it. There are opportunities to color on every page, but I would estimate that about half the pages involve an activity. There are mazes, word puzzles, drawing prompts, and matching games to name a few. If you are only looking for coloring pages, this is probably not the book for you.The included stickers are very nice, and about a 50/50 mix of characters and colored snowflakes. The images for coloring are highly detailed, and might be frustrating for younger children. This book is best suited to users with colored pencils.

I bought this Frozen coloring book for my granddaughter's birthday since she loves the movie. This coloring book is thick and has a lot of activity pages in it, but most of them can be colored as well. There is one page in the front of the book that has stickers that include snowflakes and the main Frozen characters. There are a lot of details on the pages so I would recommend using a mix of crayons and colored pencils to color in this book. The activities in the book include mazes, find the difference, word search, counting items, drawing and more. There is a story line on the top of the coloring pages that goes along with the movie. If you are looking for an activity/coloring book then I would recommend this book, but if you are looking for just a coloring book then I would recommend to keep looking.

I have a four year daughter who is a huge fan of the movie "Frozen" and when this arrived in the mail last week, she sat down for two straight hours, completely consumed. She loves coloring in the pictures and has asked me to help her with some of the more advanced activities like the mazes or letter games. I have been thoroughly impressed with this book's ability to inspire her concentration and imagination and since she can sit still with it for long periods of time it has also freed me up to do other things while she's occupied. Most of the activities are too advanced for a young child to read or do on their own, but she recognizes all of the scenes from the movie and loves putting her own touches into the illustrations. I highly recommend it for the price and it will be a coloring book that's filled in from cover to cover for little enthusiasts of the film.

My 2 1/2 year old twins love Frozen and they enjoy coloring (okay, scribbling) so I bought this coloring and activity book for them. The coloring book is great because the coloring pages and activities follow the Frozen story all the way through the book. Each page has a sentence or two about what is going on in the picture or what kids need to do for the activity. I love that the pages are perforated so I can just tear out a couple of pages and hand them to my kids so they don't fight over who gets to use the coloring book. There is also a full page of stickers included in the book. My kids are still too young to fully enjoy the fun of a coloring and activity book but they love it and are so happy when they color so that makes me a very happy mommy! The price was excellent and I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a Frozen fan!

Well I would have given it 5 stars but the book is mainly full with activities.. Take note that if you are trying to buy this for a young child.. Don't.. Its highly detailed note the photos.. Also the stickers were not qworth it..most of them are snow flakes! I would have liked to see more different kinds!.. The package did arrive a day early (surprised!!) And packaged really neatly and nicely! Will be ordering one for myself! And the Ariel one!

This is lovely. The Pictures are lovely and beautiful I'm almost wishing for a 2D version of the movie in this art style. Also Elsa crown or tiara whatever one may call it, look kinda like, she wearing cute little ears. The package got here right on the schedule date of delivery. there was a few bent corner but that was fine for me. Overall I'm happily okay with my coloring book my cat okay with it too. I might get this book for more older kid rather then a younger one althoughI upload a pic of Elsa really the crown look like cute little ears :)

My daughter loves to color, and she also loves Frozen (probably like 95% of little girls). This perfectly fit-the-bill for me and my daughter. Not only is it fairly priced, but it has a very large quantity of pages to color. Actually, I bought one of these for her about one year ago and she completely filled the pages. I forgot that I had purchased it, and bought another one about one month ago. She noticed that they were the same right away, but she told me that she didn't care and she was really excited to color it again. So it worked out for me.For the price and the quality, I don' think you can go wrong.

While reading "Ephphata," I couldn't help but feel the love Dr. Thomas Caulfield and his wife Jen have for both their children. Christopher's disability turned out to be something that helped them grow closer together, and push Christopher to find something he really enjoyed doing.While it could have been a sad story to read about young parents having to surmount every trial dealing with their son's deafness, Caulfield's work (which comes from two decades of journals), is instead so positive and uplifting. This is what a parent struggling with aligning their wishes and realities for their children needs to read. The Caulfields' experiences dealing with surgeons, teachers and coaches was informing and helpful.I loved how the sports experiences in soccer, baseball and basketball were interwoven, and really become the focus of the book in the middle to end - really making it something that reads like a feel-good movie. Christopher's deafness really isn't the focus of his life, which it shouldn't be.As a parent who is constantly watching two of my children struggle to keep up with their peers both socially and academically, this book was so empowering for me to read and internalize. Thank you for being an inspiration Caulfield family.

From the moment I read the cover of this book, I knew that I would relate to the story in a profound way. I am a mother of three beautiful children, two of which happen to be on the Autism Spectrum. My experience of motherhood (& my husband's experience as a father, too) has been completely shaped because of the natural needs of my children, and I often wonder what their lives will be in the future. Similarly, Mr. Caufield details the journey of fatherhood that his own child's specific needs had created for him in an open and honest way. Not only does the book detail the child's experience from the parent's perspective, but it also shows a father's hopes, fears, and prayers for his son in a painfully vulnerable way. I loved it. I laughed and cried, seeing myself and my children from almost an outside perspective after completing this book. I really truly recommend this amazing story!

I was drawn to this book more than others at the moment because my daughter is studying American Sign Language (she is hearing) and part of her class is to also learn about those profound leaders in the non-hearing community that opened (and, in some cases, blow apart) doors and made unthinkable strides. Each biography we've encountered has given us goosebumps, filling our hearts with respect and admiration. I'm delighted to say that Christopher Caulfield's biography, penned by his father via documenting his life, obstacles and achievements, is no different. As I read Dr. Caulfield's accounts, I felt saddened at the moments that Christopher and his parents (and sister) were disheartened and I felt overwhelming joy when I could be part of. The amount of times (I'm sure not even all are mentioned) that Christopher was subjected to an unfair decision (like being removed from a championship basketball team at a camp) is mind-blowing, however, in nearly every single instance (the championship camp team included), he and his father managed to find the silver lining: in this case, though not what they'd hoped for, it was really a compliment to Christopher's ability to play basketball so well. Confused? Read the book and you'll understand...and be as touched as I was. If you liked "Wonder" you will love this real-life underdog story.

This was a very moving story... It really is not for the faint of heart. This book leads you through the lives of Christopher and his family on his jourrney through his disability of being deaf. I appreciate Dr. Caulfield's fore thought in saving this journal for his son and then sharing this with us all... It really is a remarkable story. I wanted to cry at some parts for the pain and trials but there were also parts I wanted to fist pump. This story runs through all of your emotions. I thought this was well put together and was easy to follow. It pulled me in rather quickly. Very touching read

When I learned about this book I had to jump on it. My father was deaf so I was around that community my whole life. I'm hearing, my fingers think I'm deaf though lol. Christopher story is amazing, what his parents dealt with in and out of schools, games, home life. Any child we have we struggle with decisions on are we doing this right... what Tom and Jen did was grab ahold of their whole family and decided together what would happen.This book shows just part of their struggles but also their victories.I had the honor of reading an advanced copy, and loved every second of it

It is not just a factual presentation, it has some very laughable moments and very easy to relate with.If you are going to only buy one book this month, make sure this is the book. I have many of Mark's earlier books and enjoyed them all thoroughly. Mark is wise and communicates so well through stories. The title of this one caught me because I have a new horse, and we've gotten off to a bit of a rocky start. This book contains so many important insights to be found nowhere else in print! Mark is such an expert at distilling the wisdom of an experienced horseperson who seeks to understand, not dominate. I find his points to be so easily absorbed from his stories. And unlike in his first 4 books, Mark seems to have found his voice as a writer and teacher, adding more of his own interpretations of the stories, which I find very helpful. This book is really helping me get to the heart of what is important in building my new relationship. It's a hard book to put down, but I make myself do it so I can more fully absorb and appreciate each chapter.Mark has a way of boiling down what's important and touching the hearts of all true horse lovers.

Having been involved with horses my whole life, I enjoy Mark's books for bringing a more expansive feeling to the mechanics of riding. The stories make learning easy especially in relating to real life situations. My only reservation is that in all his stories, the riders seem to be good and only lacking understanding. Too often I see ones with bad seats and hands interfering with the horse. They don't seem to show up at Marks' clinics.

I picked this up as a 2-fer with another Rashid book I'd been looking for. As it turned out, this is going to be one of those books I'll reread frequently. As is his habit, Mark Rashid uses words to explain the unexplainable and does it in an eminently readable style. I wound up keeping this one in the tack room so I could read it after my rides while hand-grazing my horse. If it were smaller format, it would probably go with me for reading at stop lights and during boring social events as well.In Whole Heart, Whole Horse, Rashid goes beyond basic training into what really makes a horse tick and how a human friend can use true understanding to improve both the relationship between them and the horse's life in captivity. I found so many insights that I couldn't read more than a few pages without rushing out to apologize to one or another of my horses and try some new approach. I won't pretend to have Rashid's amazing ability to sense what a horse is thinking, but there are some tales in the book that led even me to a higher level of sensitivity in dealing with my equines.My only complaint is that my entire herd is so calm and happy now, I'm running out of funny stories to share with friends and add to my own books!Great book from a great horseman!

Mark perfectly conveys through story and reflection the path to success with horses beyond tools and techniques. A great book for any horse owner or trainer who's been lucky enough to encounter "problem" horses, and a great read for anyone who celebrates what can happen when we learn to give the best of our selves to the horse.

I think I read this book pretty much from cover to cover before I had even cleared away the packaging.As always Mark writes in an easily accessible style, anecdotes from his clinics and his work with 'the old man' provide insights into his style of teaching, and the way of the horse. I find myself thinking deeply about the way that I train, and interact with horses when reading his books. They aren't instructional in a traditional sense, and yet there is something that makes a connection. You learn by listening to the writer; in a way that is perhaps closest to the way that we naturally learn through experience and although you may not leave with a specific set of exercises to perform, or a new gadget to try I definitely believe that you will learn.If you're a fan of Mark already, then this will be familiar and yet because they are new stories and experiences they will bring you some new insights. If you are new to Mark, then be prepared to read and let your own mind process the stories. As I say this is not an instructional book in the normal sense of the word; you won't get training techniques 101, or 101 exercises to stop your horse bucking, but you can learn a great deal from allowing this book to percolate through your own thoughts, feelings and attitudes.

I love reading Mark Rashid's books. I am pursuing horseback riding in my fifties. I have learned a lot from Mr. Rashid's insights into horses. He also has a great writing style. He communicates a lot through his various stories.

I've read most of Mark Rashid's books and like them all. There are so many theories and ways that people handle horses and so many have very strong opinions. Mark is refreshingly flexible and open minded in his approach. Above all, he tries to see things from the horse's perspective and go from there. And it is clear he loves and respects horses in their own right. This, and all his books are filled with stories and lessons and you come away having learned something and being entertained. You won't be sorry you read this book.

Although I'm not a trainer, breeder, or expert...I've owned and ridden horses of varied breeds, English and Western, for 50+ years. Sadly, I had to get a few miles on me before I allowed myself to begin to "think" and "feel" out of the box.... and was then able to realize what horses were teaching me! This book is not a training manual or a step by step "how to" fix it book. It's about attitudes, value systems, and relationships. It should be a manditory read for any one who has any thing to do with horses. From my observations, some horse people misinterpret fear and/or pain in their horses as a lack of respect or simply bad behavior. Mark Rashid's writing style slowly ebbs away the potential for that kind of misinterpretation and creates the possibility of other options. This book solidified the very things I had begun to think, question, and experience with my horses and their individual personalities and issues. It's one I will read over and over......it really is about the journey!
