The scales on my eyes started peeling away.”His two chapters called “Aha Moments” reveal the numerous tipping points in Limbaugh’s journey where scale after scale fell away—tipping points that no honest seeker of truth can ignore. Of course, as Limbaugh admits, many who are not interested in truth, or have their own agenda, ignore or remake Christ in their own image.He writes, “We must not casually remake Jesus in the image in which we prefer to see Him or which conforms to the popular culture’s misperceptions about Him. Our politically correct culture may, presumptuously, choose to recast Jesus as indifferent to sin and saccharine sweet, no matter the circumstances, but this Jesus is God, and God cannot look upon sin. What do these revisionists make of the Jesus Who made a whip of cords and drove the moneychangers out of the Temple (John 2: 15)? … What do the revisionists say about the Jesus Whom Paul describes as “revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus ” (2 Thess. 1: 7– 8)? What of the difficult moral standard Jesus laid down in the Sermon on the Mount? Did He show indifference to sin there?” Limbaugh rightfully concludes: “This idea that Jesus is meek, mild, indifferent, and non-judgmental is the stuff of pure myth.”In addition to correcting the culture’s emasculated view of Christ, Limbaugh has two fantastic chapters tackling the paradoxes of Christianity. These include: God’s plan of salvation, including the relationship between grace and works; the acknowledgement that we are sinful yet commanded to be perfect; the Trinity, that God is one in essence yet three in persons; that Jesus has two natures, human and divine; that you must give up your life to find it; that Christians are strong when they are weak; that God is sovereign yet humans have free will; that God knows all and is unchangeable, yet we are to pray; that the Bible is inspired yet written by men; and many others. The insights Limbaugh brings to these paradoxes are some of his own, and the best nuggets mined from Christian scholarship that I doubt you’ll find in one place anywhere else.Limbaugh devotes several chapters to the evidence for the Bible, including its unity and reliability as evidenced through history, archaeology, prophecy and science. He debunks several myths and misunderstandings along the way, and then saves his final chapter for what many think is the atheist’s trump card against God: Evil.Many years ago David provided me an “Aha Moment” during one of our very many theological discussions. He said, “Evil really bothers me, but only Christianity has a sensible answer to it.” There’s no question he’s correct. We wouldn’t even know what evil was unless good existed, and real objective good could only exist if God exists. As David explains, evil turns out to be a backhanded argument for God. In fact, evil is the very reason God entered human history in the person of Christ. Only his sacrifice can solve the evil in my heart and yours.David puts it this way: “Don’t be offended by the notion that you must have saving faith in Christ. Don’t assume that God is making you jump through unnecessary hoops. He is the One Who suffered for you. He did this so that you could live. He doesn’t ask you to believe because He is on a divine ego trip, but because He loves you and wants you to latch on to Him in order to be saved from your sins.”I just can’t recommend Jesus on Trial highly enough. Every thinking person should investigate the claims of Christ, who is unarguably the most influential human being to ever walk the earth. If his claims are true (and Limbaugh shows they are), then we won’t be putting him on trial—he will be putting each of us on trial. Only Christ can secure you a favorable verdict.

As a former atheist for over 25 years, and a man of science with evidence-based truth seeking mindset, I found my way back to Christianity through scientific evidence, and historical and archeological evidence to the credibility of the biblical accounts. When I read the book "Jesus on Trial" by David Limbaugh, it brought me back to my own journey to faith in such a striking way that I said to myself "I could have written this book". How amazing the Lord works in the lives of people who really seek His truths. I congratulate Mr. Limbaugh for a well written thesis in defense of the Christian faith. The book was clear with convincing arguments, evidence-based and easy to understand by all readers. I highly recommend it to all who care about the truth.

Overall I find him to be true and faithful to the Bible. His faith is based on the evidence that he has studied and found to be true. The indisputable shift toward secularization parallels the postmodernist agenda, which conveniently excludes scientific and archaeological facts that support Christianity, and the Bible as the living word of God. The absence of such teachings in schools and universities is troubling because all generations deserve to know them.The breadth of historical references and philosophical analyses make Jesus On Trial relevant reading for anyone, especially those troubled by the erosion of societal values. While such a vast study in human and theological history is not necessarily light reading, it's fascinating and mentally quite nourishing. I think all of David Limbaugh book are very well written. I have learned a lot from his writings. He is writing for a Protestant audience. I think David is as impartial as he could be for the general reader. I don't think his writing is as thorough or comprehensive as some of the books I have read on the same subject. I still give it 5 stares and if he writes more books I will buy them. Â

I like the idea of a workbook because it's more interactive & gets you thinking more. I tend to remember things better when I write them. At times, I wished there was more reading material & less writing. It helped me analyze my anger issues better. Seeing it on paper gives you a different perspective. The relaxation techniques were the most helpful to me. I will continue to use those in the future. I felt like most of the material after that part of the book was just ok for me. I'm interested in reading the book this was based on, When Anger Hurts. Maybe that has more detail that I'm looking for.

Best workbook ever. I admit I had Highhope's and expectations and they were fully met. While not every page applied, the ones that did really hit home and got me thinking about why I responded the way I do, what it does to the people around me, and finally gave me great strategies on what to do with the anger. Anger is OK – – it's simply how you choose to deal with it. Highly recommend

Easy to read/use, very effective workbook. Helps to get get at the underlying pain/stress, provacative situations, and trigger thoughts that lead to anger. Also good relaxation techniques and how to help inoculate yourself from, what turned out in my case at least, the "automatic" anger response. Make sure you make copies of the worksheets and write EVERYTHING down, then you can go back and you may see a pattern start to emerge. I was amazed at what lies beneath my own anger and rage.I also read Anger Management For Everyone: Seven Proven Ways to Control Anger, by Tefrate, et. al. After I went through the book and did the exercises, I felt I needed a little more help. Then I read and began doing the exercises in The Anger Control Workbook. For the first time in my life, I am starting to understand why I react the way I do. In my own experience, I found the two books to compliment each other in the order given above.While nothing is a sure deal to permanently "cure" me from angry outbursts, I was able to see progress in myself almost immediately, starting from Chapter 3. What resulted was a fasinating self-awareness of myself and much-needed peace!

Absolutely LOVE this book. When building my anger management group, I primarily used this book because of its CBT foundation and the assignments were very good for my adults.

This book is bigger than expected and for the price its one of the best Anger Management books on the market. The exercises in this workbook have helped me tremendously! Thank you!

This is an excellent book, especially for the person who is NOT a batterer and is dealing with anger issues. In reality, putting the suggestions in place is harder than it reads in the book. However, there are a lot of suggestions, with repeated practice, that are totally workable. This is a different approach that I've read in other books. As a Substance Abuse Counseler, and personally, I found this book a great resource referrence. It is also easily read, therefore it will be understandable by almost anyone who reads it.

Another “Wow” read from Lisa Regan. This book is all kinds of twisty and so, so good!I love this series so much. I feel like these characters are like old friends. That’s what Lisa Regan does to you, she pulls you in and then tortures you by threatening your friends!Her Last Confession doesn’t disappoint! If you loved the first three novels in this series, don’t stop now. Lisa is a master plotter and this is another must read!Not only do you get to learn about Gretchen’s backstory and why she is the way she is, but you also get to see Josie interact with her new sister—and new love interest. Josie and Noah sizzle on the pages, even when they’re angry with each other.Trinity and Josie’s’ relationship is as complicated as ever but also sweet as hell all at the same time. I can’t wait to see how they progress in future books.In this book, Gretchen is in trouble, and Josie refuses to believe she’s guilty. Even when Noah doubt’s Gretchen’s involvement in the murder of a young man, Josie’s faith in her friend never falters. But it’s more than faith, it’s instinct. Josie has razor shape instincts and her intuition is almost always right. She’s fun to read and I love her take-no-crap attitude.With this book, we're introduced to some new characters and man are they fun. Between the drunk ATF agent, the serial killer, and the biker gangs, you’ll won’t be bored. I had trouble putting this down and I’m sure you will too.

This series is best read in order, I feel, as the main character has really grown and changed for the better. Josie is a strong willed, persistent, smart woman. The book is laid out in manner that has the reader jumping from the 1990’s to the present day, and its a little annoying as you don’t know the people being discussed and they change with every chapter. You soon realize a serial killer is at work, but I think it could have been spelled out in a less confusing way.Gretchen and Josie have a lot in common. Both are Detectives in Denton, Pennsylvania. Both have cray cray mothers who raised them, and both mothers are inmates in the same prison. Gretchen, however, has confessed to murder; Josie doesn’t believe her, and is determined to prove Gretchen is innocent. Wishful thinking? Josie and Noah, another Detective, are enamored 🥰 with each other, but don’t have time to do much about it!All in all, this is a complex storyline, with unforeseeable surprises and twists, which makes for a delightful read! I’ve really enjoyed this series.

I really enjoy reading all of Lisa Regan's books and very much enjoyed this book but with one minor complaint. I grew increasingly annoyed with the police chief who replaced Josie Quinn when she decided to step down as chief - her choice although the mayor never liked her and considered her to be an interim chief. I find it difficult to believe that police chiefs debase their staff as this one does. He yells at them and these are professionals - his method of communication is to bark orders and tells them to "get their asses into his office" or wherever he wants them. Josie was chief for two years and certainly deserves more respect than being treated like that. If this chief is in the next book I hope he lightens up and is more respectful. He did "soften" a bit towards the end but not much.

Detective Quinn is an intriguing protagonist throughout this series. As difficult as it is to make each book stand alone for new readers, those of us reading the series from the beginning really want to know more about her personal life, too. For those of you who haven't read this series from the beginning, I highly recommend starting it at the beginning so you can understand Josie and the characters around her. She's not just a one-dimensional crime-solver.

This book was everything you would expect from Lisa Regan and more! I pre-ordered this a month ago, and it dropped to my Kindle today - I literally read it cover to cover, only stopping once to feed the dog. It was great to learn Gretchen's back story in this thrilling new Josie Quinn book. I can't wait for more, and if you find time, I would definitely recommend checking out Regan's other titles! I love her style and the characters she writes about.

Regan's writing style and plots remind me of Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh a bit. I enjoy all three of these writers and Josie Quinn is one of my new favorite police detectives. When people use the terms "stay up all night" or "edge of my seat", this book is nothing short of that meaning. Josie and the supporting characters are vivid, true to life characters with personal and professional problems that we all live and deal with. If you are looking for a gripping mystery, this is one.

Although I’m a pretty tough critic of many authors in this genre and use 5 star ratings very sparingly, I’m a huge fan of this author and have read all of her novels. When I learn she’s about to release another novel, I immediately preorder it & begin the countdown to its publication date. That’s how confident I am that I will love her next book even more than the last, and that’s not a statement that I make lightly! If you haven’t taken the plunge into the world of Detective Josie Quinn, I strongly suggest you do so! I promise that you’ll be happy you did!

An excellent aid for the student or teacher of Old Testament prophets. Extremely complete, readable, plenty of sources. Get the hardback for sure.

This book is for those who want to have a deeper scholarly look into the world of the Old Testament prophets and prophecies. It is a collection of essays from the world foremost scholars on this subject. There is a bibliography after every essay which helps if one wants to do more research. Although this volume is part of the “Black Dictionary” series, it is an independent lexicon just on the subject. This book is a little bit pricey, but worthy of its price.

This is as, or more, good as the others in this series. All of which I own.

It helps us get more abundant and accurate information about the Bible including backdrops etc and provides us with recent biblical scholarship.

It is little hard to read and understand, but if you can read and understand it, you may be find a surprising idea that you never observe.

Great articles and scholastically worthy of study. Easy to read format. Articles are meant to be exhaustive. They are very well written and scholastically beneficial. Could be considered a must addition to your library on the Prophetic writings of scripture.
